We met up with our tour guide Daniel of Girdano Tours at 7:30 am. The first thing he showed us were the giant mountains around Arequipa, which turned out to be volcanoes. 5 surround the canyon, the three nearest are called Misti, PicchuPhicchu, and Chachani. They are the ones with snow caps.
Pampa Canahuas is a natural reserve where Vicuñas make it it's natural habitat. Vicuñas are a type of camel similar to Llamas, but are much smaller and have the softest and most sought after fur.
We took a quick stop at Pata Wasi, an Andean community with a view of rock formations and the Misti and Chachani volcanoes. Artisan and textile vendors sell alpaca goods and a restaurant sells Coca tea.
